It’s not so much about sacrifice as that wouldn’t make any logical sense as why would a God purposely send his supposed son to die for the sins of mankind when sins would only end up being committed long after any sacrifice was made. The very idea of Christ’s sacrifice was merely a way for Christians to act like shitlords with the excuse that Christ died so they can do no wrong.
The actual story of Jesus encompasses his life and his teachings as well. It is a message, regardless of being a historical account or a work of fiction, is to always stay true to your values and moral code. Even under instances of extreme scrutiny, prejudice, and at the extreme end, torture. Those who nailed him to the cross tried to break the man and yet they failed only for that man to plead with God for their forgiveness for even he acknowledged that mankind was in its infancy.
Plus there really is no sacrifice when Jesus is on display regularly as if he was never taken down from the cross by those who claim to follow him as if they stand alongside the Pharisees.
